1955 Chevy

While his other drag cars provided quite a bit of fun, Bob wanted to have a car he could "get in and drive" but was a bit faster than The '33.  He loved the body style and decided to build this 1955 Chevy.  it has many fiberglass parts, nose, doors and is a full tube chassis car.  He is actively driving this car with the Midwest Wild Bunch so look for him at a track near you!

2012 - After many hours on RacingJunk, Bob acquired a 1955 shell to build.  One quick trip to Colorado had this very solid and buildable car in his garage, ready for the next stage of this multi-year project.

2012 - Once he gave the car a once-over, he fitted it with a left over motor from his previous dragster.  This allowed mocking up of headers, wiring, etc.

2012 - Christmas was celebrated with some plumbing:  a new front end gas tank, radiator and a new set of huge pipes sticking out of the bottom!

2014 - Safety check time...some winter work was adding a rear spoiler for stability near the finish line.  He applied his engineering heritage to buld a fully adjustable wing.  He's received multiple requests to build this for others.

2014 - Final version (for now) includes a blown fuel injected motor that runs Ethanol (or other fuel).  He is among the first in the region to run this combo at over 1000HP and 1000 ft. lbs...we like to think he was before his time!
